Amidst the current round of reshoots taking place, it looks like a final version of the next installment in the X-Men film franchise is beginning to take place. Many fans have been less-than-excited about the upcoming live-action adaptation of one of the most legendary storylines in the pages of Marvel Comics, ‘The Dark Phoenix Saga,’ which depicts the story of Jean Grey being overtaken by a dark force from space and turning her into the ultimate weapon.
Following months and months of rumors about the production and how the Disney/21st Century Fox merger will affect the film, thanks to a user on Reddit, a small glimpse of the trailer, dubbed in Russian, has made its way around the net. Take a look for yourself below.
What do you think? Based on what we can see here, the film seems to be taking a darker turn in tone and aesthetic. The series events that we can see here seem to be at a frenetic pace with all the familiar members of the team coming back for more. Little is known about the plot and this Russian version of the leaked trailer doesn’t help clear any of that up for us.
While fans await the official trailer release, this leak can allow those holding out hope for a return to the golden days of X-Men movies some peace of mind as they seem to be pulling something together as we draw nearer to that early-2019 release date.
