A galaxy far, far away just got a little suaver. According to Variety, Game of Thrones actor Pedro Pascal is set to lead Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian.
Early last month, Making Star Wars reported that Pascal was up for the lead role, but could not confirm the story. Their report appears to have been right on the money as the Wonder Woman 1984 star has now joined the project.
Pascal became a household name during his stint on Game of Thrones as Prince Oberyn. He followed that performance up with roles in various blockbusters, including Kingsman: The Golden Circle and The Equalizer 2. In summer 2020, Pascal will star as Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1984.
Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian is set to be the first original series on the Disney+ streaming service. The show is expected to debut sometime next year and will have episode’s directed by Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Dave Filoni, just to name a few.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
