Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman was a worldwide phenomenon. So much so that Warner Brothers wasted no time green-lighting a sequel, Wonder Woman 2 is set to roll into theaters Fall 2019 with Gal Gadot set to reprise her role as the Amazonian Goddess. Reports have surfaced that set the film during the Cold War, with Diana Prince set to return to the world of man to ease tension during the nuclear arms race.
Our friends at Omega Underground have uncovered even more details about the film, including its working title which may provide a clue as to who the film’s villain is. The working title is “Magic Hour”, now that may not mean much to you but it seems to be a nod to a well-known Wonder Woman comic villain.
The DC Comics villain Circe was rumored to appear in Wonder Woman before the role was revealed to be that of Dr. Poisons. Circe is based on the Greek figure that imprisoned Odysseus in the Odyssey. In the comics, she first appeared all the way back in 1949 as a centuries-old enchantress. Eva Green was reportedly WB’s first choice for the role, it’s unknown if they will pursue the actress again because casting for the film has yet to begin.
