‘X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX’ Will Not Have Three Months Of Reshoots

Although several reports have recently stated that X-Men: Dark Phoenix will have a three-month period for reshoots, sources have now revealed that it will undergo two and a half weeks of reshoots. It was initially reported that it would have three months for additional photography in Montreal following test screenings, and the shift in release date is also due to the busy schedules of its ensemble cast. However, it turns out the movie will still return to Montreal for reshoots, only for a shorter period than expected.

According to Collider, the additional photography will incorporate several new unspecified scenes, extended material for existing scenes, and more action in the climax. This suggests that the film will not receive major changes since reshoots for most productions are done to get coverage of similar material.

Even though the movie will have a shorter schedule for additional photography, its February 2019 release date has not changed. It is likely this date is fixed so that the post-production will be able to complete effects and sound work with minimal issues. Whatever the case, fans can now rest assured that the final iteration of Dark Phoenix will not be a major overhaul from earlier drafts of the script.
