Plot details for Spider-Man: Far From Home are coming out of CCXP fast and furiously. Jake Gyllenhaal revealed during the movie’s panel that Quentin Beck was at one point working for Nick Fury.
Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury has a reputation for keeping information close to the vest. It appears that will come back to bite him as the main antagonist of the Homecoming sequel will be an old acquaintance of his.
It’s unclear how long Mysterio has been roaming the MCU, but what is clear is that the film will give him a rich backstory that will interconnect with the larger universe. It’s possible that Quieten Beck is played as more of an anti-hero to begin the film before moving into the role as the big bad later one.
It was also revealed that Nick Fury comes to Venice, while Peter Parker is on a school trip, to recruit Spider-Man to help stop The Elementals, a group of supervillains who are able to control elements. That’s likely where Mysterio comes in as he knows of Fury and his past dealings.
