With the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp tomorrow and preview screenings of the film tonight, sights are being set on the future adventures of Scott Lang and hope Van Dyne. The Wasp herself, Evangeline Lilly, has commented on the possibility of a third film in the franchise.

The actress is set to appear in Avengers 4 next May but everyone is wondering if the pint-sized heroes will return to their own corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point in the future. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter Lilly was asked about the possibility of an Ant-Man 3:

“At this point, my understanding is that we need to get butts in the theater seats again if we’re going to have another film. So if everyone gets out and watches it then I would assume we’ll have another one. I hope we’ll have another one, because I really want to do it again, but I don’t know right now.”

For those of you who were unsure about the film industry, it is first and foremost a business. If Ant-Man and the Wasp fails to get people to the theater or excite them about another film then Avengers 4 may be the last time we see these minuscule characters.

However, the film is being hailed as another hit for Marvel with the critics and is being compared to Captain America: The Winter Solider in terms of one of their better sequels. If you want to read our non-spoiler review click here.
