Even though filming for the pilot of HBO’s upcoming series Watchmen wrapped a while ago there are still a number of set photos currently being revealed. Thus far we have seen a number of images featuring connections to the original comic’s storyline. But now we have a look at some set photos which depict a historic riot.

The scenes released from set look to depict a racial rebellion in 1921, where supporters attacked the black community of Tulsa, Oklahoma. We previously got a look at members of the Ku Klux Klan in another batch of set photos but this adds a bit of context.

It will be interesting to see how this ties into the story of HBO’s Watchmen as it has previously been reported the show will take place in a present that was influenced by the events of the original comic. We should soon get some more information on the series so make sure to stay tuned to SuperBroMovies for updates.
