Dan Aykroyd Reveals ‘GHOSTBUSTERS 3’ Is Being Developed; Would Reunite Original Cast

I ain’t fraid of no ghost. Ghostbusters writer/actor/perpetual hype-man Dan Aykroyd has revealed they are currently at work on a Ghostbuster 3 screenplay that should reunite the original cast.

While on The Big Interview with Dan Rather (via Discussing Film) Aykroyd talked about his career and how he’s trying to keep his “Ghost Corps” production company afloat by cranking out as many Ghostbusters movies as possible.

Bill Murray has expressed his unwillingness to return to the franchise time and time again so it’ll be interesting to see if they can get him back.  Unfortunately, Harold Ramis passed away in 2014 so they’ll need to find a tasteful way around his passing if they are to go through with this film

Ghostbusters 3 was in development for years before it was rebooted in 2016 with Ghostbusters aka Ghostbusters: Answer The Call aka “The Reboot That Broke The Internet.” The original script, titled Ghostbusters: Hellbent, would’ve sent the crew to Hell. When that movie was deemed “too expensive” by the studio another draft of the third movie was commisioned by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky but that clearly didn’t happen either.

The only other Ghostbusters film being planned at the moment is an animated film with no current released date.

What do you think of this news? Do you want to see another Ghostbusters with the original crew? Let us know what you think @superbromovies on Twitter!
