Fans of the Star Trek franchise just got some bitter news as the 4th film in the franchise’s current canon has hit a huge bump in the road.

The woman tasked with directing the anticipated blockbuster, SJ Clarkson (‘Marvel’s Jessica Jones’) has recently been tapped to direct and executive producer the upcoming pilot episode for the ‘Game of Thrones’ prequel series on HBO.

This news comes after the contract negotiations for Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth reportedly fell through this past summer. Karl Urban has previously stated that he believed the salary dispute would end but no news has been heard or reported on since last August.

With Clarkson taking on a new gig, it looks like fans will have to continue to wait with baited breath to see what is next in the world of Captain Kirk and Spock.
